How the calculation works
Engagement rate is the percentage of followers that interact with the average post. The formula we use is (likes + comments) / followers × 100. Some tools also include saves and shares — if you have those numbers, add them into the comments field to get a more accurate picture.
What counts as a good rate?
Benchmarks shift by platform and account size. As a rough guide: under 1% is below average, 1–3% is healthy, 3–6% is strong, and anything above 6% usually means a highly engaged niche audience. Smaller accounts typically beat larger ones — a 10k-follower creator can easily hit 5% while a 1M-follower brand rarely clears 2%.
